Buying Liquidation Truckloads: A Practical Guide
Once you’ve moved a few pallets, the math starts pointing toward volume. Buying liquidation truckloads is how established resellers hit the lowest possible cost per unit — but it comes with real logistics you need to plan for.
What’s in a truckload?
A full truckload is roughly 22–26 pallets on a 53-foot trailer. It might be a single category (an apparel load, a general-merchandise load) or a mixed load. Larger loads are usually sold with a pallet-level manifest rather than item-by-item, so you know the composition without a line for every unit.
Why the per-unit cost drops
Liquidators discount volume. Selling one truckload is far less handling than selling 24 pallets individually, and that efficiency is passed on as a lower price per unit. If you can move the volume, the margin per item is the best in the business.
Freight and receiving — plan this first
- A truckload ships on a 53′ trailer and delivers curbside. You’ll want a loading dock or a forklift to receive it.
- No dock? Add liftgate service at checkout, but understand you’ll still be moving 20+ pallets by hand or pallet jack.
- Freight to all 50 states is included free — but the receiving logistics are on you.
When to scale up from pallets
Move to truckloads when: you have the storage space, you have a reliable resale channel that can absorb the volume, and you’ve proven your recovery rate on single pallets in that category. Scaling volume multiplies both your margin and your risk — do it on categories you already understand.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a liquidation truckload cost?
Truckloads on this site run from several thousand dollars up, depending on category and estimated retail. The per-unit cost is lower than buying the same goods by the pallet.
Do I need a forklift to receive a truckload?
A dock or forklift is strongly recommended. Without one, add liftgate service at checkout — but you’ll still need to move each pallet off the curb yourself.
Is freight really free on a truckload?
Yes, curbside freight to all 50 states is included. Liftgate and inside delivery are optional add-ons because they’re extra carrier services.
